Upright meaning
The trumpet wakes what has been sleeping. It is time to settle accounts with the past, forgive yourself, and answer a call you can no longer postpone. It is also the card of long-awaited results, reunions and comebacks.
If it were reversed
You hear the call and are pretending not to. You may be retrying your own past failures and only lengthening the sentence. The past is for accounting, not for living in.
