Upright meaning
The chains are loose enough to lift off at any time, and still the two do not lift them. Something sweet enough that you cannot cut it — a relationship, a habit, a desire, a contract — is holding you. Admitting the rope is the beginning.
If it were reversed
The chain is loosening. You have found the strength to leave a habit or a relationship that held you for a long time. Relapse always waits at the door, though, so once it is cut, do not look back.
