Upright meaning
Lightning only brings down towers that were badly built. A sudden event topples a familiar structure, but that structure was standing on a crack from the start. Only after the shock can you rebuild on something solid.
If it were reversed
What should fall is still standing. You may be papering over the cracks out of fear of the collapse. Dismantling it yourself hurts far less than the lightning does.
